IOWA STATE CYCLONES – 2010 Final Stats vs Our Projections
2010 FINAL PASSING
Austen Arnaud – 171-290; 1,703 yards; 13 TD; 10 INT; 59%
Jerome Tiller – 39-82; 363 yards; 1 TD; 0 INT; 48%
OUR PASSING PREDICTION
Austen Arnaud – 254-406; 3,112 yards; 19 TD; 12 INT; 63%
Jerome Tiller – 42-70; 472 yards; 2 TD; 2 INT; 60%
The Verdict- The passing offense wasn’t nearly as effective as we thought it would be in year 2 of Tom Herman’s offense. The blame can be spread around to the quarterbacks, receivers and the offensive line.
2010 FINAL RUSHING
Alexander Robinson – 202 carries; 946 yards, 9 TD
Austen Arnaud – 103 carries; 287 yards; 2 TD
Shontrelle Johnson – 35 carries; 218 yards; 2 TD
Jeff Woody – 47 carries; 191 yards; 1 TD
Jerome Tiller – 42 carries; 66 yards; 0 TD
OUR RUSHING PREDICTION
Alexander Robinson – 242 carries; 1306 yards; 6 TD
Austen Arnaud – 158 carries; 632 yards; 7 TD
Shontrelle Johnson – 84 carries; 386 yards; 2 TD
James White – 42 carries; 168 yards; 1 TD
Jerome Tiller – 30 carries; 146 yards; 1 TD
Jeff Woody – 32 carries; 112 yards; 3 TD
The Verdict – We weren’t too far off on ARob’s yardage total considering we thought he would have a bowl game to add to his total. Arnaud’s running yards were a disappointment, but much of that can be pinned on the offensive line. The offensive line allowed 33 sacks in 2010 after giving up only 16 in 2009.
2010 FINAL RECEIVING
Collin Franklin – 54 catches; 530 yards; 3 TD
Jake Williams – 35 catches; 404 yards; 4 TD
Darius Darks – 29 catches; 355 yards; 1 TD
Alexander Robinson – 26 catches; 201 yards; 1 TD
Darius Reynolds – 25 catches; 283 yards; 2 TD
Sedrick Johnson – 16 catches; 102 yards; 0 TD
Josh Lenz – 14 catches; 170 yards; 2 TD
OUR RECEIVING PREDICTION
Sedrick Johnson – 46 catches; 661 yards; 6 TD
Darius Darks – 60 catches; 630 yards; 3 TD
Collin Franklin – 41 catches; 476 yards; 3 TD
Darius Reynolds – 32 catches; 397 yards; 2 TD
Jake Williams – 24 catches; 302 yards; 2 TD
Alexander Robinson – 28 catches; 392 yards; 4 TD
Donnie Jennert – 20 catches; 280 yards; 1 TD
Josh Lenz – 29 catches; 276 yards; 0 TD
Albert Gary – 15 catches; 135 yards; 0 TD
Keith Blanton – 8 catches; 99 yards; 0 TD
The Verdict – We kept expecting Sedrick Johnson to break out and it never happened. Best of luck to Sedrick at Stephen F. Austin. Darius Darks hasn’t been bad, but he hasn’t lived up to the promise he showed as a freshman when Robert McFarland was running the offense. We thought Collin Franklin would have a big year and he he did not disappoint. Jake Williams was also stand out leading the team with 4 touchdown receptions.
