I had an outstanding time at the Cyclone Gridiron Club scrimmage last night. Thank you to Coach Chizik and the entire staff for opening up the scrimmage to the Gridiron Club. Also, thank you to Mike Lacey and everyone else with the CGC who made it possible.
Coach Chizik spoke to the club after the scrimmage last night and made it clear to everyone that the practice was closed. So as much as I would like to give out details on the scrimmage I am going to respect his wishes. I will tell you that this scrimmage alone is worth the $100 fee to join the club. I would encourage everyone to sign up today – your donation goes directly to Iowa State football.

Without going in to specifics I will mention there were some surprise individuals running with the ones and a few interesting position changes. One particular position change seemed to be working remarkably well. The freshman class looks to be very talented and many already have Big 12 bodies.
The marketing staff asked Coach Chizik what he wants from our crowd, his response was he wants the stadium as loud as possible. He wants our crowd of 50,000 to sound like 70,000. How many Cyclone fans are up to the challenge? I know I am.
