Big 12 Football – Power Rankings Week 11

The Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma State Cowboys appear to be the top two teams in the Big 12.  Nebraska controls it’s own destiny in the North with a home game against Kansas State and a roadie against struggling Colorado remaining.  The Texas Tech / Oklahoma game this Saturday will help determine who deserves the fourth slot.  Bowl eligibility will be determined for several bubble teams in the next two weeks.

Big Twelve Football – Power Rankings (Week Eleven)

1. Texas Longhorns – Overall (10-0) Big 12 (6-0) – BCS Ranking 3
Last week: (3) Texas 47 Baylor 14
Texas appears to has a clear path to the Big 12 title game.  Can any team from the North give the Longhorns a game?

Nebraska finally has a healthy Roy Helu Jr. at running back. If Nebraska represents the North can they give Texas a game?

2. Oklahoma State Cowboys – Overall (8-2) Big 12 (5-1) – BCS Ranking 12
Last week: (19) Oklahoma State 24 Texas Tech 17
Zac Robinson led the Cowboys to a victory over the Red Raiders, but had to leave the game with an injury.  The Pokes should be fine without Robinson this week.

3. Nebraska Cornhuskers – Overall (7-3) Big 12 (4-2)
Last week: Nebraska 31  Kansas 17
Roy Helu Jr. had a big second half for a Nebraska offense that is struggling to put points on the board.

4. Oklahoma Sooners – Overall (6-4) Big 12 (4-2)
Last week: Oklahoma 64 Texas A&M 10
Oklahoma took the Aggies to the wood shed.  The Sooners have two tough games remaining and will need wins in both to resurrect their season.

5. Texas Tech Red Raiders – Overall (6-4) Big 12 (3-3)

6. Kansas State Wildcats – Overall (6-5) Big 12 (4-3)
Last week: Missouri 38 Kansas State 12
How weak is the Big 12 North?  If Kansas State wins this week they win the North, if they lose they will not qualify for a bowl game.

7. Iowa State Cyclones – Overall (6-5) Big 12 (3-4)
Last week: Iowa State 17 Colorado 10
The Cyclones are the most improved NCAA team with first year head coaches.  Paul Rhoads has the Cyclones at +4 wins from a year ago

8. Missouri Tigers – Overall (6-4) Big 12 (2-4)
Last week: Missouri 38 Kansas State 12
Missouri went into Manhattan and put a damper on Kansas State’s Big 12 North title hopes.  The Tigers are now bowl eligible and hope to finish strong.

9. Texas A&M Aggies – Overall (5-5) Big 12 (2-4)
Last week: Oklahoma 65 Texas A&M 10
The Bad Aggies showed up again last week and they were blown out by Oklahoma.  If you bet on college sports steer clear of A&M.

10. Colorado Buffaloes – Overall (3-7) Big 12 (2-4)
Last week: Iowa State 17 Colorado 10
Dan Hawkins days appear to be numbered.  The Buffs have lost 10 straight Big 12 games on the road and will miss a bowl game again this year.

11. Kansas Jayhawks – Overall (5-5) Big 12 (1-5)
Last week: Nebraska 31 Kansas 17
The Jayhawks are  in a tailspin and they travel to Austin this Saturday.  Good luck.
